My experience includes several years in the field of education as a teacher in the areas of special education and gifted and talented and as a school counselor. This has proved invaluable in my work with parents as they prepare for conferences with school teachers and administrators concerning their children. As a school counselor I enjoyed facilitating parent education groups and training and continue to find this most rewarding in my private practice. As I worked with children, I realized that when anyone in a family is having adjustment difficulties, everyone is affected, so I extended my practice to include the family and later included couple counseling including pre-marital counseling and marriage education.
